Rosacea Type 2 Treatment With Strut Rosacea Formula #2 For Acne Rosacea

Read on

Rosacea is a complex skin condition, in that each person with rosacea can have a slightly different mix of rosacea “types”.

Technically, there are 4 types of rosacea, but nearly everyone with rosacea experiences type 1, type 2, or a mixture of the two.

Type 1 rosacea is called erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (ETR), which comes along with the symptoms of flushing, facial redness, and visible blood vessels under the skin.

Type 2 rosacea to known as papulopustular rosacea or acne rosacea, and is known for small acne-like blemishes over the face.

The treatments for each type of rosacea vary, so making sure that you are getting treatment for the type(s) of rosacea that you are experiencing is key to rosacea relief.

Here at Strut Health, we carry rosacea formulas specifically for those who suffer from type 2 rosacea (with or without a blend of type 1) that contains 3 key ingredients with the aim of getting both redness and pimples under control.

Below, we will cover some of the key ingredients that may help those that are dealing with type 2 rosacea, and just how they can deliver benefits.

Azelaic Acid to reduce redness and swelling

Azelaic acid is one of the most well-tolerated ingredients around, and despite having “acid” in its name, it is normally gentle enough to use once or many times daily, even in those with sensitive skin.

In fact, studies show that using azelaic acid on papulopustular “acne” rosacea can help significantly reduce overall facial redness and inflammatory lesion count when compared to those in the control group that did not use azelaic acid.

Azelaic acid is normally produced in small amounts by your skin, and it is also found in grains like wheat, barley, and rye.

Metronidazole to soothe inflammation and regulate bacteria

Both oral and topical treatment with certain antibiotics are known to help clear rosacea. But, in order to help reduce systemic exposure to antibiotics and deal with potential antibiotic resistance, a topical treatment applied directly to the skin is the preferred method.

Topical metronidazole can help clear the blemishes associated with papulopustular type 2 rosacea and continuous treatment with a metronidazole cream or gel may even help prevent rosacea recurrences.

Ivermectin to reduce inflammation and help clear skin mites

Ivermectin is a medication that is sometimes prescribed as a tablet to help clear parasitic infections internally.

But, when Ivermectin is used as a topical cream or gel in those with rosacea, it is thought to help reduce redness and blemishes by helping to clear excess mites from the skin.

Demodex mites are a type of mite that commonly lives on the skin, but those with rosacea may have much higher levels of these mites, so much so that they cause an immune response consisting of redness and inflammation which may play a factor in the rosacea disease.

One placebo-controlled study found that in patients using ivermectin for 12 weeks, they experienced “excellent” or “good” improvements in their rosacea, as well as reporting improvements in their quality of life.
